Karnataka Elections 2023 will commence on May 10th and results will be announced on May 13th. Challakere constituency is a rural area located in the Chitradurga district of the Indian state of Karnataka. The constituency is one of the 224 constituencies that make up the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

The 2023 election is likely to witness a fierce contest between Congress and the BJP, with the Janata Dal (Secular) also expected to play a significant role. The winning candidate will need to address the economic impact of the pandemic and work towards the development of the region.

Challakere Assembly Elections 2023:

Challakere will witness Raveesh from JD(S) vs T. Raghumurthy from INC vs Anilkumar from BJP for the upcoming Karnataka Elections. There are a total of 2,06,504 voters in the constituency that include general voters, NRI voters and service voters. Amongst the general voters 1,04,045 are male, 1,02,423 female and 3 others. The electorate gender ratio in the constituency is 98.41 and the approximate literacy rate is 72 percent

Challakere Assembly Elections 2018:

In the assembly election held in 2018, the Challakere constituency saw fierce competition between the Congress and the BJP. The Congress fielded M. Narayanaswamy, while the BJP nominated K. S. Sudhakar. In the end, it was the BJP's K. S. Sudhakar who emerged victorious, winning the election by a margin of over 20,000 votes.

The 2018 election was significant for the Challakere constituency, as it marked the rise of the BJP in the region. The election also saw a high turnout, with over 70% of the electorate exercising their franchise.

INC won this seat in the 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections with a margin of 23,123 votes securing 40.74 percent. of the total votes polled. In 2013 the seat witnessed a voter turnout of 78.39 percent. Meanwhile, BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly Elections with a margin of 289 votes registering 36.01 percent of the votes polled.
