Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023: Congress’ first list of candidates

Congress has announced a list of candidates for 144 assembly seats for the upcoming state polls in Madhya Pradesh.

In Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath will be contesting from the Chhindwara constituency, while Lakshman Singh, the brother of former CM Digvijay Singh, has been nominated for Chachoura. In the Raghogarh seat, which Digvijay had previously held, the former CM's son, Jaivardhan Singh, will stand as the Congress candidate.

The state will vote in a single phase, similar to the 2018 elections. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, held on November 28, the Congress emerged as the largest party with 114 seats, just two short of a majority in the 230-member assembly.

Vikram Mastal will contest against Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Budhni constituency. Congress has also fielded candidates like Ajay Singh Rahul, Jitu Patwari, Hemant Katare, and Vikrant Bhuria.

The first list features candidates for 30 ST community constituencies and 22 SC community seats. Madhya Pradesh assembly elections will be conducted in a single phase on November 17, with results being declared on December 3.

Chattisgarh Elections 2023:

In Chhattisgarh, Deputy CM TS Singh Deo will run for re-election in Ambikapur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will contest from Patan, where he has served since 2003. Baghel will face BJP leader Vijay Baghel in the Patan seat who is also apparently his distant nephew. The first list includes Congress leader Amarjeet Bhagat, who has won the Sitapur assembly seat four times.

Of the 30 candidates announced in Chhattisgarh, 14 belong to the ST community, and the list includes three women candidates. The party has also given tickets to MLAs identified in their internal survey as facing anti-incumbency.

Chhattisgarh will hold elections in two phases on November 7 and November 17, with results being announced on December 3.

Telangana Elections 2023:

In Telangana, Congress has revealed 55 candidates, with Anumula Revanth Reddy contesting from Kodangal and Uttam Kumar Reddy from Huzurnagar. Other notable candidates include Dasari Seethakka, Mynampally Rohit Rao, and Mynampally Hanumanth Rao.

Telangana will go to polls on November 30 and results will be declared on December 3.
