New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Counting of votes in the 288-seat Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is underway. As the early trends suggest, the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance are cruising towards a comfortable victory. As per the official trends by the Election Commission, BJP is leading in 99 constituencies, Shiv Sena is leading in 60 constituencies, NCPleadingin 48 constituencies & Indian National Congress in 40.

Meanwhile, leaders like Aaditya Thackeray, who is contesting for the first time is leading in his Worli constituency by over 12,000 votes. While the CM Fadnavis has again started to lead after falling behind in the second round of counting.

Speculations are made that the Shiv Sena will play thekingmakerin the state, if the BJPcan notmake a majority on its own, while on the other hand, the Congress’ smaller ally NCP is also likely to play a pivotal role if the demand by the Shiv Sena to make Aaditya Thackeray the new CM gain more heat.
