12th Fail Releases On OTT: Featuring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar in the lead, the film emerged as a surprise hit, garnering immense success at the box office. Despite relatively low initial awareness, the film gained tremendous popularity through strong word-of-mouth recommendations. After receiving acclaim from both critics and audiences, 12th Fail releases on OTT on December 29.
Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film is presently available on Disney Plus Hotstar in Hindi with English subtitles.
12th Fail on Disney Plus Hotstar
Vikrant Massey's film streams on Disney+ Hotstar, marking its premiere on December 29. The OTT platform made the announcement and shared the film's trailer on Instagram, emphasising its status as a must-watch before the onset of 2024. Disney+ Hotstar wrote, "If there is one movie you must watch before 2024 starts, this one has to be it! #12thFail streaming on 29th December."

Originally released in October, '12th Fail' is an adaptation of the 2019 Hindi novel of the same name by Anurag Pathak. The novel is based on the lives of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar lead the cast, alongside Anant V Joshi, Anshuman Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The film has been submitted as a potential independent nomination for the Oscars. This unexpected turn marks a significant recognition of the film's cinematic excellence and the talent behind its creation.
In an interview with Firstpost, Vikrant talked about his experience of working with director Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He highlighted Chopra's uncompromising nature, stating that the director's honesty might sometimes make one uncomfortable but ultimately contributes to the integrity of the work. "He can be a tough task-master but that X factor comes out of whether you have the ability to take it otherwise you can crumble. People say he’s a tough taskmaster because he’s someone who won’t compromise. He’s a very honest man and honest to the point where he can make you feel uncomfortable with his honesty," Vikrant said.
