12th Fail: Vikrant Massey is riding high on the success of his 2023 release 12th Fail. In a recent conversation with GQ India, actor Vikrant Massey shared insights into his portrayal of Manoj Kumar Sharma in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's movie 12th Fail. Massey's performance in the role has garnered acclaim, but he revealed that it was not without its challenges.
Massey highlighted the meticulous preparation required for the role, which included nearly a year and a half of preparation and three months of intensive workshops. As part of his preparation, Massey underwent physical transformations, losing weight and tanning his skin. The actor shared an anecdote about his skin getting burnt during the tanning process. Still, Vinod reassured him that it would eliminate the need for makeup, allowing for a more authentic portrayal.
Despite the physical challenges, Massey emphasised that the emotional weight of the character was the toughest part of the journey. He spoke about portraying a character who embodies the dreams of millions of Indians, a story that resonates with the masses. Massey delved into the psychological depth of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who at times doubted his ability to achieve his dreams, mirroring the harsh reality that not everyone succeeds in such endeavours.

Looking ahead, Massey has exciting projects in the pipeline. He is set to appear in ‘Yaar Jigri’, ‘Sector 36’ and ‘The Sabarmati Report’. Additionally, it was recently announced that he will star in the sequel to the 2021 film 'Haseen Dillruba', titled 'Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba', alongside Taapsee Pannu.
