Superstar Aamir Khan was recently embroiled in controversy after a poster and teaser depicting the actor in the role of Guru Nanak Dev Ji went viral. The emergence of the alleged next project online sparked outrage among netizens. The actor has been receiving backlash for the same. Amid the controversy, Aamir's team issued an official statement debunking reports, calling them fake and stating that the actor would never be part of anything disrespectful.
Aamir Khan's Viral Poster As Guru Nanak Is AI-generated
In an official statement, Aamir's spokesperson clarified, "The poster showing Aamir Khan as Guru Nanak is completely fake and AI-generated. Aamir Khan has no connection to any such project. He holds the highest respect for Guru Nanak and would never be part of anything disrespectful. Please don't fall for fake news."
The situation escalated after a fake YouTube channel impersonating a popular music company posted a poster of Aamir as Guru Nanak, leading to a heated debate within the Sikh community.
BJP Punjab spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal and other members of the Sikh community strongly condemned the news of the actor allegedly playing the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak in an upcoming project. They called it a disgusting attack on Sikh religious sentiments and a clear attempt to provoke the Sikh community.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is gearing up for his next movie Sitaare Zameen Par, which is a sequel to his hit film Taare Zameen Par. The movie also stars Genelia Deshmukh. It is being directed by RS Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao. The movie is slated to release on June 20, 2025.
He has stepped into the role of producer for the movie Lahore 1947, which is being helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The highly anticipated movie stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, Mithun Chakraborty, Karan Deol, Parminder Singh Kainth and Shaqib Khan
Aamir also has his dream project, an adaptation of the Mahabharat, in the lineup. He will produce the movie under his production banner, Aamir Khan Productions.
