Recently, the official Instagram page of Laapataa Ladies dropped a clip in which Khan shared his views on why Kiran Rao was the right director to bring the film to life. He even remarked on his vision for the film and said, “I was sure she was the right director for it. Because I have worked with Kiran, and she has a very sharp mind. Once she has decided to make something, she goes for it. She is very honest. She treats the characters with a lot of honesty. She treats the scenes with a lot of honesty. And that is exactly what I felt was needed for this film."

Talking about the film, he stated, “The first time, I really kind of fell in love with it. It was an extremely dramatic script. What was happening was very dramatic but in a very real setting. It’s not very mainstream. Even I said, this is a film that is going to connect with a lot of people."

Helmed by Kiran Rao and produced under the banners of Aamir Khan Productions, Kindling Pictures, and Jio Studios, Laapataa Ladies was released in cinemas on March 1, 2024.
