Aamir Khan recently shared his thoughts on his son Junaid Khan’s debut film, Loveyapa, which unfortunately didn’t perform well at the box office. In a candid interview with Instant Bollywood, Aamir responded to the film’s failure, saying, “Accha hua” — meaning it’s good that it happened — and explained why he sees it as a positive step for Junaid’s journey in the industry.
The PK star acknowledged that while Loveyapa didn’t succeed, Junaid’s performance stood out. He praised his son’s dedication, highlighting how Junaid immerses himself fully into his roles. Aamir mentioned Junaid’s work in the upcoming film Maharaj, where he felt his son completely transformed into the character. He said the same about Loveyapa, noting that Junaid convincingly became Gaurav, his on-screen persona.
While Aamir believes Junaid is a talented actor, he didn’t shy away from addressing his son’s shortcomings. He pointed out that, like himself, Junaid isn’t a natural dancer and struggles with social interactions. He even shared that Junaid gives quirky, unconventional answers during interviews — a trait Aamir found amusing and relatable.
Drawing parallels to his own early career, Aamir admitted he often sees glimpses of his younger self in Junaid. He recalled being shy and awkward during interviews, much like his son is now. He explained that both he and Junaid have strong, deeply rooted values, which sometimes lead them to make decisions that may seem impractical to others but hold personal significance.
Reflecting on the film’s failure, Aamir expressed confidence that this setback would toughen Junaid, helping him learn and grow stronger. He remains optimistic about Junaid’s future, believing his son is on the right path and will continue evolving as an actor.
