JE Entertainment Desk: Prabhas-starrer 'Adipurush' is all set to release in theatres on June 16. The movie has created a lot of hype amongst the audience despite being surrounded by controversies and receiving criticism. However, 'Adipurush' got involved in another controversy after Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah announced that no Indian film will be showcased within the capital if the movie does not correct the mistake about the birthplace of Goddess Sita.

He wrote on Facebook, "Until and unless the slogan 'Janki is the daughter of India' included in the South Indian film 'Adipurush' is not true not only in Nepal but also in India, no Hindi film will be allowed to run in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. 2 days have been given to correct this. Hail to Mother Sita."

According to ETimes, the censor board passed the film after the dialogue claiming Sita as India's daughter was removed from the film. For the unversed, Sita was born in Nepal's Janakpur, according to Ramayana.

Meanwhile, talking about its box office prediction, 'Adipurush' is expected to have a great opening day in the Hindi belt and the Telugu states. As per the report by Bollywood Life, the movie is likely to collect Rs 55 crore in the Telugu states and around Rs 30 crore in North India.

If 'Adipurush' will cross the Rs 100 crore mark on its opening day, then it will beat the record created by Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan'. Earlier, SS Rajamouli's 'RRR', Yash's 'KGF 2' and Prabhas' film 'Baahubali 2' collected over Rs 100 crore on day one.

The movie will not release in IMAX as DC's film 'The Flash' has already blocked the IMAX screens in advance.

'Adipurush' has been getting a lot of support from the film industry. Ranbir Kapoor has donated 10,000 tickets to NGOs across the Hindi belts and Ananya Birla has also joined him in this initiative. 'Karthikeya 2' producer Abhishek Agarwal also announced that he will donate 10,000 tickets out of his devotion to Lord Ram. He will donate the tickets to government schools, old-age homes, and orphanages located in Telangana.

'Adipurush' will release on June 16, 2023. The movie stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon as Raghava and Janaki respectively. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshman and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang.
