What Is Adipurush About?
Adipurush revolves around the life of Raghava, who is the king of Ayodhya, and his journey to Lanka in order to rescue his wife Janaki, who is portrayed by Kriti Sanon. The movie's synopsis reads, "Raghav, the prince of the Ikshvaku dynasty from Kosala, along with his wife Janaki and younger brother Shesh, embarks on a 14-year exile in the wilderness. Residing in the forests of Panchvati, near the Godavari river, their new life takes a treacherous turn when a demoness named Shurpankha attempts to seduce the brothers and threatens Janaki's life. After a failed attempt, the demoness is left disfigured, losing her ears and nose. In retaliation, the Demon King Lankesh abducts Janaki, spurring Raghav and Shesh to embark on a mission to rescue her with the aid of Monkey King Sugriv, his loyal companion Bajarang, and their formidable monkey army."
About The Immortal Ashwatthama:
Aditya Dhar's The Immortal Ashwatthama has been creating a lot of buzz since its announcement. Earlier, Vicky Kaushal was roped in for the movie, but he couldn't be a part of it for some reason. However, the script was also given to NTR Jr and Yash. Nevertheless, neither of these two endorsed the film. For the drama, actors like Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan were also courted, but Allu Arjun from Pushpa was chosen as the lead. Allu Arjun reportedly gave his approval for the idea as soon as he read the screenplay.
If the reports are to be believed, the Immortal Ashwatthama will revolve around the Mahabharata character of the same name. Ashwatthama is the son of Dronacharya.
He was a Maharathi warrior who sided with the Kauravas in the Kurukshetra War against the Pandavas. He received a curse from Krishna that caused him to turn into a Chiranjivi (immortal). Drona, Ashwatthama's devastated father, was beheaded while praying for his son's soul as a result of the deceitful conspiracy surrounding his claimed death.
