The seven-member boy band BTS is one of the most popular K-Pop groups across the globe where the group made their debut in 2013 with 'No More Dream' and will mark 10 years this June. Their journey from 'Too Cool For Skool' to their latest song 'The Planet' was released recently for World Environment Day, however, one needs to know these boy's commencement and breakthrough journey, as their discovery period and a strategic reason behind it.

Kim Namjoon AKA RM is the leader of the group where he was inspired by Epik High's 'Fly' in the sixth grade. This made him popular as an underground rapper in 2007 where he has sung under the name of 'Runch Randa.' He then joined a rap crew of three members and got in touch with the Big Hit Entertainment's producer where he ended up auditioning for Big Hit Entertainment and was the first to join the band in 2010.

Suga AKA Min Yoongi was also an underground rapper under the name of 'Gloss.' He was not just a rapper but also a producer and used to produce beats for an underground group called D Town. He also auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment and did not win the competition but was just the runner-up, however later on got the opportunity to be a part of the band.

J-Hope is the key dancer and singer of the group, where the band is known for their songs and hook steps. He is also the producer of the band which makes a holistic experience for the fans to watch him. As he was into full-time dancing, he auditioned for Big Hit, got selected, and eventually moved to Seoul.

The eldest of them all, Kim Seol Jin AKA Jin signed up with SM Entertainment first but then he got lucky and auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment when he was just a college student. Having no core experience in singing or dancing, the rapper indeed had to work hard.

Jungkook

The youngest of them all, Jungkook was inspired by RM when he auditioned for the 3rd season of 'Superstar K' and was eliminated during the auditions fortunately an agency recruiter saw true potential in him and chose him for Big Hit Entertainment where initially a background dancer, but soon became the face of the band.

Kim Tae Hyung AKA V has the perfect rag-to-riches tale, where the rapper belonged to a farmer's family with no money but a sense and passion for music. Proving his seriousness for music, he learned saxophone and then applied at Big Hit Entertainment where now he is one of the most renowned artists across the globe.

Park Jimin AKA Jimin from Busan was known to be the best dancer in his school where he was then motivated by his teachers to opt for a career in the same field. He moved to Seoul and auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment, where his natural skills eventually made him the final member of BTS.
