Initially announced in May 2023 under the working title Thalapathy 68, reflecting Vijay's 68th lead role, the film's official title was revealed in December of the same year. Principal photography began in October 2023, with filming taking place in diverse locations such as Chennai, Thailand, Hyderabad, Sri Lanka, Pondicherry, Thiruvananthapuram, Russia, and the United States. The movie's music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Siddhartha Nuni handling cinematography and Venkat Raajen in charge of editing. The movie is now scheduled to hit the theatres on September 5, 2024.
