Singer Arijit Singh, who was set to perform in Chennai on Sunday, April 27, has cancelled the concert in the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam. This decision is taken by him in collaboration with the organisers to showcase solidarity with the innocent people, who lost their lives in the heinous and inhumane terror attack, which is one of the deadliest attacks in the Kashmir Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, where 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
Arijit Singh Cancels Chennai Concert
Organisers of Arijit's concert took to their Instagram story and shared a note which read, “IMPORTANT UPDATE. In light of the recent and tragic events, the organisers, along with the artist, have collectively made the decision to cancel the upcoming show scheduled to happen in Chennai this Sunday, April 27th. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, and the amount will be automatically refunded back to your original mode of payment."
Several Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Siddharth Malhotra, Sonu Sood, Anupam Kher, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Allu Arjun, among many others have expressed their grief and slammed the terrorist for targeting innocent people. After this situation, the industry has decided to cancel film releaded events like movie launch events, trailer and teasers, brand events to share the sorrow of families of deacesed during this difficult phase.
Actor R. Madhavan recently expressed his support for the film fraternity's decision to temporarily cancel all events.
About the Pahalgam Terror Attack
The entire nation is in shock after a horrifying turn of events where 26 tourists were killed and several civilians were injured in an open fire in the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday (April 22). The terrorist attacked the group of tourists in Baisaran Valley, while they were enjoying the meadows with their families. Disguised in miltary uniforms, four to five gunmen started the fire. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot claimed responsibility for this assault. After this incident, the political scenario of India and Pakistan is quite intense, leading to high security and strict decisions being made against the country.
