Known for her work in Bhojpuri cinema, actress Akanksha Dubey has reportedly died by suicide at a hotel in Varanasi's Sarnath. Dubey hailed from Parsipur, which is situated in the jurisdiction of Chauri police station in Bhadohi district.

The news of her demise was confirmed by a person close to the actress. "It was her first day on the sets of the new film Nayak. The makers were shooting in Varanasi. Today around 9 am when her makeup boy went to call her at her hotel, she was found dead in the room. She was shooting alongside Aklesh Verma," the person told ETimes.

The late actress was born on October 21, 1997, in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. She had a keen interest in dancing and acting from a young age and had gained popularity on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Just before her passing, the actress had posted a video on her Instagram account.

Last month, she made headlines when she confirmed her relationship with co-star Samar Singh on Valentine's Day through some loved up pictures that she shared on her Instagram. In the caption, she had wished everyone a happy Valentine's Day.

On the work front, Akanksha had just finished filming Mitti alongside Bhojpuri singer-actor Yash Kumar, in which Raksha Gupta plays a crucial part. The film was directed by Chandan Upadhyay and produced by Arvind Prasad and Prem Shanker.

Dubey started her acting career with a small appearance in the film Meri Jung Mera Faisla. However, she gained recognition for her performances in movies like Mujhse Shaadi Korogi and Saajan.
