BLACKPINK's Rosé recently opened up about her experiences collaborating with Bruno Mars on the hit track APT in an interview with a Korean media outlet. The singer revealed a memorable—and slightly embarrassing—moment during the recording session that left fans amused and charmed.

While receiving vocal coaching and direction from Bruno Mars, Rosé shared that she was asked to sing the line, “Hold on, I’m on my way,” as if the person she was calling out to was far away. When she sang it shyly, Bruno teasingly remarked, “You’ve never flirted with anyone like this, huh?” The anecdote has since gone viral among fans, with many appreciating the lighthearted exchange.

Rosé also disclosed that she was the one who pushed for APT to be presented to Bruno Mars despite initial hesitations from others. While many suggested she pick a safer track, she swapped the final submission to APT at the last moment, confident that Bruno would appreciate its unique charm. “I don’t know why, but I was sure he’d pick it,” she explained. Her instincts proved correct, as APT became a standout hit, further highlighting her creative vision.

Reflecting on her journey, Rosé opened up about how words of encouragement, such as “You’re doing well” or “You did well,” resonate deeply with her. “I think I like hearing compliments because I’m the type that wants to do a good job and work hard,” she shared.

She also emphasized the importance of having supportive colleagues. As a member of BLACKPINK, Rosé grew accustomed to working collaboratively, drawing strength and ideas from her bandmates. Now navigating solo projects, she appreciates the guidance of mentors like Bruno Mars and the bond she shares with her fellow BLACKPINK members.

Fans of BLACKPINK can rejoice as Rosé confirmed that the group is planning an album release and a tour in 2025. Despite their busy individual schedules, the members remain closely connected. Rosé revealed that Lisa video-called her when her recent solo song debuted, and the members often send her videos of her music playing whenever they hear it.

Rosé also discussed her recent solo release, Number One Girl, which captivated listeners with its raw, emotional lyrics. She explained that the song stemmed from a night of vulnerability, where she spent hours reading malicious comments online. Determined to channel her emotions into her art, she crafted a song that was deeply personal and honest.

“It’s okay if it makes me uncomfortable because I want to really write something extreme,” she noted. The process proved cathartic and Rosé spent the following year pouring her energy into the studio, resulting in one of her most impactful works to date. Rose's debut studio album with 12 tracks drops on December 6, 2024.
