Bollywood is in the midst of vibrant Diwali celebrations and Sara Ali Khan hosted a Diwali bash for friends and colleagues at her Mumbai residence. The guest list included names like Ananya Panday, Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Johar, and Orry. Notable among them was her ex-boyfriend and Love Aaj Kal 2 co-star, Kartik Aaryan, with whom Sara acknowledged her break-up on the latest episode of Karan Johar's popular chat show, Koffee With Karan 8.

The actor arrived donned a yellow kurta for the occasion and greeted the paparazzi with folded hands. Donning a clean-shaved look, Kartik paired her kurta white pyjamas and kolhapuris for the celebration. Watch the video here:

Sara on dating Kartik

Kartik Aaryan's presence at Sara Ali Khan's Diwali bash occurred a day after the airing of her latest episode on Koffee With Karan. During the show, Sara spoke about the challenges of dealing with breakups and mentioned that it was "not always easy" to maintain cordiality with someone with whom she had been involved in the past.

During the episode, host and filmmaker Karan Johar asked Sara and Ananya Panday if it was easy to remain friends, considering their past relationships with Kartik Aaryan. Sara responded, "I don't want to say, yeah it's all easy because then it comes across as a little more frivolous than it is. It isn't always easy. When you're involved with anybody, whether they are your friends, whether it's professionally or romantically. Especially if I am, I get involved, I get invested. So it's not like Oh yeah, It doesn't really matter. These things do affect you."

Sara added, "Ultimately you have to rise beyond that. And something I realised, there are actually no permanent predicaments in this business. There is no point in making permanent best friendships. pinky promises. I won't talk to the person. All these nevers don't really work. In my personal experience, there is no point making permanent best friendships, pinky promises, saying I'll never talk to you again. All these nevers and always nahi hota (doesn't happen)."

For the unversed, Sara and Kartik dated around the release of Love Aaj Kal 2 in 2020, a film directed by Imtiaz Ali that did not fare well at the box office. Their interactions at various events have since kept fans curious about the nature of their relationship. A couple of months back, Sara Ali Khan also attended Ganapati Utsav at Kartik Aaryan's house.
