Tiger 3, featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is highly anticipated, but reports suggest that the film has faced a ban in certain Middle-East countries, including Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait. The decision is said to be not surprising, as it earlier followed a similar ban on Akshay Kumar's historical drama 'Samrat Prithviraj'. While the reports suggest that the reason for the ban is the alleged negative portrayal of Islamic countries and characters in the movie, Twitterati feels that it is Katrina Kaif.

This development has led to disappointment for Salman and Katrina's fans in the aforementioned regions who won't be able to enjoy the film upon its release. Earlier, Akshay's 2022 release Prithviraj too created a stir for allegedly 'distorting history' and 'hurting sentiments' of the Muslim community.

Why is 'Tiger 3' BANNED in Qatar?

While there is no official confirmation, there are rumors suggesting that Salman Khan starrer may have been barred from release in certain Middle-Eastern countries, including Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. The speculation revolves around the alleged negative portrayal of Islamic countries and characters in the film, particularly the depiction of the antagonist, played by Emraan Hashmi, as the leader of a global terror organisation. However fans speculated that Katrina Kaif's fight scene in a towel, could have contributed to the ban.

About Tiger 3

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer is the fifth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. Previous films in this universe include 'Ek Tha Tiger,' 'Tiger Zinda Hai,' 'War,' and the upcoming 'Pathaan.' The movie has received a 'UA' certification and has a runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes.

Tiger 3 also stars Revathi, Vishal Jethwa, Kumud Mishra, and Ranvir Shorey. Additionally, reports suggest that Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan will make cameo appearances as Kabir and Pathaan, respectively.

For those unversed, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, emerged to be the second-highest-grossing Indian film in 2023 and the third-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Well, it will be interesting to watch if Tiger 3 can break those records.
