BTS Jin has posted a new photo on his personal Instagram account with fellow band members Jimin and Jungkook who enlisted in the military on December 12, 2023. In the photo, Jin can be seen in the middle with his younger bandmates. Jin is in military uniform while Jimin and Jungkook are in the casual dresses that they wore at the time of their enlistment. Jimin and Jungkook's innocent expressions in the photo have melted BTS ARMYs’ hearts as they miss their idols for the time that they are away.

BTS Jin wrote an emotional caption that added to the longing that ARMYs are already feeling. He wrote, “thought this was funny but... I'm in tears”. His caption reflects his state of mixed feelings as he welcomed his younger brothers to the military. Reports also suggest that Jimin and Jungkook will possibly train under Jin as he was recently promoted to the position of Seargent. He shared this update with ARMYs on his birthday (December 4) in a letter on Weverse (an app where Kpop celebrities and fans connect).

BTS Jin's letter to the ARMYs said, "Hello this is Jin. Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday. I always enjoyed doing my live broadcasts on my birthday with ARMY, but unfortunately, I can’t enjoy it this year, and it’s heartbreaking. Even though I can’t be there with you in person, please know that I am having an enjoyable time with you all in my heart hehe."

He added, "It’s already been a year since I joined the military. There’s still a lot of time left, but I am already excited to be with you as I have only about a 1/3 left. Oh, and our members are going to join the army (LOLOLOLOL) I’m going to cry. I hope that time passes quickly and I can have a good time with the members and ARMYs again. Thanks again for the birthday wishes and I hope to see you all soon."

On December 11, all members reunited for a group pic as members RM and V enlisted in the military. Bandmates Suga and Jhope were present with Jungkook and Jimin on the day they joined the military. Jimin's father recently penned an emotional note after his son's enlistment and thanked the fanbase for their constant love and support. Fans are trending "BTS, we'll wait for you" on X and are setting new streaming goals as they wait for the group's comeback in 2025.
