BTS RM is counting down the final stretch of his military service. On March 3, 2025, he took to Weverse, to share his reflections on love, time and the unpredictable moments of life. Stationed in Hwacheon, where it recently snowed 17 cm, RM expressed his fascination with Korea’s distinct four seasons. In contrast, some areas of Jeonbuk recorded over 20°C, showcasing the country’s diverse climate.
RM’s post painted a picture of military life, where one of his juniors was spontaneously building an igloo in front of their quarters, adding to the unpredictability of everyday experiences. He described how university students and school kids are returning to their routines while he is steadily crossing off days on his calendar, likening the process to Robin Hood’s countdown.
A key part of RM’s letter focused on his latest read, The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm, a book he had been meaning to explore for a while. He delved into the thought-provoking idea that while people dedicate years to mastering skills like painting or music, love is often expected to come naturally. RM emphasized that modern society tends to romanticize love as dramatic and emotionally charged, but in reality, love is about commitment, promises and conscious decisions.
He further reflected on the complexities of love, particularly in the unique relationship BTS shares with their fans—one that extends beyond conventional one-on-one connections. As an artist, RM pondered what he is creating and what listeners are truly hearing. He questioned the purpose and direction of his art, reminiscing about the determination he had when he first stood before ARMY.

As he nears his discharge with only three months left—marking 18% of his service remaining—RM assured fans that he is taking this time to realign his heart and thoughts. He humorously noted that, despite the slow passage of time, even if a military clock is turned upside down, it still ticks. His goal remains to return healthy and whole.
Adding to his reflective mood, RM also updated his Instagram, sharing IYKYK by XG—a song choice that suggests he misses ARMY just as much as they miss him. With just 99 days left until his return, fans eagerly await the day they can finally welcome him back.
