BTS RM recently celebrated his 30th birthday and also updated fans that he has completed half of his military service. On September 17, 2024, RM was spotted in pictures taken during South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol's visit to the 15th Infantry Division of the Army, a frontline unit in Gangwon Province. The visit, which coincided with Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), saw the President inspecting the newly registered medical battalion and encouraging soldiers for their service, even during the holiday season.

As RM, who is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service in the 15th Division, appeared in several images from the event, fans quickly reacted with excitement. ARMYs (BTS fans) couldn't help but make humorous comments about RM’s expressions in the photos. One fan hilariously commented, "Literally the concept picture of RPWP," referring to the rapper's recent album, Right Place, Wrong Person.

The photos, shared on the President's official website and featured in news broadcasts, show RM and his fellow soldiers standing around President Yoon, clapping and raising their fists enthusiastically. Fans were thrilled to see RM, who enlisted in December 2023 and was promoted to the rank of Corporal in August 2024 due to his exceptional service.

Besides his official military duties, RM shared a personal Chuseok greeting with fans via his Instagram stories on September 16, adding warmth to the holiday spirit. Earlier in the month, the BTS leader celebrated his 30th birthday on September 12 with his military friends and shared photos from a fan-organized cafe event.

On the music front, RM has continued to make waves. He recently featured on American rapper Megan Thee Stallion's new track Neva Play, which debuted at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the biggest debut for an Asian Hip-Hop act in 2024.

RM also made it onto Billboard's 2024 R&B/Hip-Hop Chart Toppers THE HONOR ROLL List alongside fellow BTS member V. RM’s military service is expected to conclude in June 2025, but fans can rest assured that both his music and military updates keep them connected to their favourite artist, even while he serves his country.
