Diljit Dosanjh, the renowned Punjabi singer and actor, made history last year by becoming the first Punjabi singer to perform at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. However, in a recent interview on The Ranveer Show, Diljit humbly expressed that he didn't feel like a 'deserving candidate' for such a globally renowned event. He attributed his performance at Coachella to God's will and expressed gratitude for the opportunity.

Reflecting on his journey, Diljit shared, "I feel like I'm not that great a musician, but I end up getting good opportunities." He highlighted his unexpected collaboration with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, stating, "I had never imagined I'd do a film with him. Maybe it happened because of Chamkila. He gave me that chance."

Despite not considering Coachella a dream performance, Diljit acknowledged its significance, especially as it marked the first time someone from India was set to perform at the festival. He admitted that while it wasn't a dream, it was on his checklist.

At Coachella, Diljit showcased his talent on the second day of the festival's first weekend, alongside global music stars like BLACKPINK, Charli XCX, Labrinth, and Kid Laroi. Dressed in a traditional all-black Punjabi attire paired with sneakers, Diljit captivated the audience with his electrifying performance, which included hits like G.O.A.T., Patiala Peg, and Lemonade.

During his performance, Diljit was joined by a live band and a bhangra dance troupe, adding to the energetic atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was when American music producer and DJ Diplo was seen dancing in the crowd during Diljit's performance of Patiala Peg.

As the audience cheered for an encore, Diljit gracefully thanked them for their love and hinted at having to leave the stage. The performance concluded with a sense of pride as Diljit declared, "Now, it has been written in history. Punjabi aa gaye hun Coachella (Punjabis have reached Coachella)."
