Diljit Dosanjh, the acclaimed singer and actor, is currently immersed in the promotional activities for his forthcoming film 'Chamkila.' In a recent interview, he reflected on his memorable experience of performing alongside Ed Sheeran, emphasising that the idea of singing in Punjabi actually originated from 'Perfect' singer himself, much to the delight of his fans. The 'Crew' actor elaborated on the efforts undertaken to orchestrate this memorable moment, shedding light on the meticulous preparations involved in bringing Sheeran into the Punjabi music sphere. Furthermore, Imtiaz Ali praised Diljit and lauded the collaborative performance between the two.
Discussing the preparations for Sheeran's Punjabi performance with Anubhav Singh Bassi, Diljit revealed, "It wasn’t my idea, he was very excited and he had rehearsed for two or three days. His band had made the song and sent it to us a week or 10 days in advance. Till the last minute, he felt that if he could not sing, I should carry on. I thought if he managed to sing in Punjabi it would be the first time ever that a singer like Ed Sheeran would sing in Punjabi."
"Nobody ever imagined Ed Sheeran would sing in Punjabi, so that was a big deal to me. On the stage too, I was just listening to him, I wanted him to sing more," he added.
