Veteran actor Paresh Rawal recently recalled how he once feared that his acting career might come to an end following a serious knee injury during the shoot of Rajkumar Santoshi's movie Ghatak. He opened up about the unusual remedy he followed on the advice of the late action director Veeru Devgan to heal faster from the injury. The actor revealed that Devgan had suggested he consume his own urine.

Paresh Rawal shared a story about his knee injury on the sets of Ghatak. In a recent conversation with The Lallantop, the actor revealed that production gave him new slippers for the shoot, which were slippery. During an intense scene in a fish market, where his co-actor Rakesh Pandey had to drag him. Mentioning that Rakesh was gentle during the rehearsals but gave his full effort during the actual take, which caused Paresh to slip and injure his knee. The actor admitted that it was partly his own fault. Post that, Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa rushed him to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he was visited by Veeru Devgan, father of actor Ajay Devgn. The late director recommended unconventional remedies to recover from the injury.

Paresh Rawal said, "Veeru Devgan had come to visit when I was in Nanavati (hospital). When he got to know I was there, he came up to me and asked what happened to me? I told him about my leg injury. He told me to drink my own urine first thing in the morning. All fighters do this. You will never face any problem, just drink urine first thing in the morning. He told me not to consume alcohol, which I had stopped, mutton or tobacco. He told me to eat regular food and urine in the morning."

Revealing how he prepared himself to drink Urine, the Bhooth Bangla actor continued, “I will sip it like a beer because if I have to follow through, I will do so properly. I did for 15 days and when the X-ray reports came in, the doctor was surprised. The doctor asked me, ‘How did this cementing happen?’ He could see a white line forming indicating that the injury is healed. I was supposed to be discharged in 2-2.5 months, but I was discharged in 1.5 months. It was like magic."
