Samay Raina’s India's Got Latent is under scrutiny since Ranveer Allahbadia, who appeared in the show, made a remark on ‘parent sex’ jokingly. The comment did not go well with netizens and attracted a lot of controversy. FIR has also been lodged against Ranveer and Samay including other panellists such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija. Amidst all the controversy, Samay’s old video which features him talking about why India’s Got Latent is not on OTT. He stated that he is already in profit because of the memberships he used for some videos.
In the video, Samay said, “Just because of memberships I am in profit. And I am also happy because of that because OTT platforms are throwing blind money at me to stream the show on their platform. But the problem with that is that they will control the content. Because of memberships, I can be independent.”
“I will not change anything in this show, I don't want to remove the jokes or beep the cuss words. I want to keep all the content, despite the fact that it might create controversy. I want to keep the show raw,” he added.
Notably, some of the episodes or clips are only available to Samay Raina’s subscribers. Viewers have to pay Rs 59 per month to watch the videos.
The video of Samay Raina is going viral on the OTT platform. Netizens shared their views on it, a user said “And now jokes are treated as national issues and national issues are treated as joke.” A comment read, “Badhai ho bro tumhara show ab court me handle hoga.” A netizen said, “Seriously! Can't this guy speak normally? What glory does he get in using slang?” Another user said, “Your language reflects your upbringing. No matter how famous you become or how many followers you have, people will eventually tire of you and turn away, especially if you lack true talent.”
