Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan recently opened up about his experiences in Bollywood, shedding light on his debut 2014 film 'Khoobsurat' opposite Sonam Kapoor during a candid conversation on the show 'Excuse Me' hosted by Ahmad Ali Butt. The 42-year-old actor shared insights into his journey, touching upon a screen test and the role his prior dramas played in securing the opportunity.

Recalling his entry into Bollywood, Fawad Khan acknowledged the significance of his screen test for 'Khoobsurat' while giving credit to his successful run in Pakistani dramas. The actor revealed that the chance to venture into the Indian film industry was a result of both his talent and his established reputation. Pakistani dramas became a rage among Indian fans when Zee Entertainment Enterprises-owned channel Zindagi started broadcasting these dramas for Indian audiences in 2014. Famous dramas starring Khan such as ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’, ‘Humsafar’, and ‘Dastaan’ were broadcast in India and gained a high viewership. Other Pakistani actors such as Mahira Khan, Sanam Saeed, and Saba Qamar also became household names in the country. 

When questioned about the prospect of expanding his career internationally, Fawad candidly admitted that he was simply "winging it." This honesty adds a touch of authenticity to his journey, showcasing a willingness to embrace new challenges without a fixed plan.

Following his Bollywood debut, Fawad Khan's success continued with 'Kapoor & Sons' which also had Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. The actor shared that the film holds a special place in his heart due to the camaraderie within the team. He credited 'Kapoor & Sons' for bringing out the actor in him, highlighting the collaborative effort that contributed to its success.

The discussion took an interesting turn when the host, Ahmad Ali Butt, acknowledged Fawad Khan's significant success in Bollywood. He delved into the question of whether Fawad's immense stardom caused envy among his Indian counterparts, making him a potential threat.

Fawad Khan responded with humility, addressing the question's complexity. While he found it challenging to label Pakistani actors as a threat to their Indian counterparts, he emphasized the overwhelming love he received from the Indian audience.
