Since then the film has been receiving praise from the audience. It has already set a record after it collected Rs 102.5 crore at the box after 3 days of its release. But there is no looking back for Vijay’s sci-fi action thriller movie as it continues to remain at a good pace at the ticket windows.
GOAT Box Office Collection Day 4
According to Sacnilk, GOAT collected Rs 34.2 crore at the box office on Day 4 as per early estimation. The total net collection of the movie stands at Rs 137.2 crore. In Tamil Nadu, the film collected Rs 30 crore and at Hindi ticket windows it collected Rs 2.7 crore.
Earlier in an interview with India Today, GOAT director Venkat Prabhu talked about the casting of Vijay in dual roles (both as father and son). He said, “At first when I wrote the script, I was not aware of de-ageing technology, and so I started the script with father and son, which was to be played by different actors. Then my classmate Vikram, who is into animation and had worked in Hollywood movies, introduced the concept of making a character as your wish just as they did in 'Gemini Man', and I decided to explore it.”
“Till 'Jawan', we saw father and son characters played by the same actor, but I wanted to do it differently. To use the de-ageing technology, we needed a big budget and that's when AGS [Entertainment] came in. I had initially narrated the idea to Vijay when he was doing 'Varisu' and he asked me to finish my project Custody first,” he added.
GOAT stars Thalapathy Vijay, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth Thyagarajan, Mohan and Prabhu Deva in key roles. The Tamil language movie was made on a budget of Rs 400 crore.
