Gurucharan Singh, known for his role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, made headlines recently after disappearing and then reappearing weeks later. He has since discussed the controversy involving his co-star Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who accused the show's producer, Asit Modi, of sexual harassment, resulting in an FIR being filed. Gurucharan shared that Modi was unwilling to resolve the matter with Jennifer. Additionally, he revealed that he was unexpectedly replaced on the show without any prior notice, leaving him bewildered.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gurucharan admitted that he had tried to mediate between the parties but chose to keep himself out of the dispute to avoid further complications. Addressing the controversy, he said, "Main iss baare mein do baatein bolunga. Main Jennifer ji se mila tha, unse kaafi baat hui. Main Asit bhai ke paas bhi jaata tha kyuki woh mere kuch cheezein unse thi… Maine ya koshish ki thi ki un dono ki mulakat ho jaaye. Ye maine 100 percent koshish ki thi. Kuch aisa ho gaya tha ki lag raha tha ki mere pe koi baat na ho jaaye iss cheez pe. Kyuki kabhi kabhi jo help karne jaata hai na woh bekasur se kasurwaan ho jaata hain. Maine ye try kiya tha ki dono ki mulakat ho baith ke usko sort out kare (I will say two things about this. I met Jennifer and talked to her. I met Asit also for some things. I had tried to set up a meeting between them. It came to a point where I felt that what if I am dragged into the mud in their matter? I wanted them to sort out the matter)."

Gurucharan Singh was also questioned about his departures from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, specifically why he left the show in 2012, made a return, and then departed again in 2020. Addressing this, he clarified, "In 2012, I was replaced by the show’s producers; I did not leave on my own. There were some contractual issues and disagreements regarding the agreement. They replaced me without informing me beforehand."

Meanwhile, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal filed a police complaint against Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, accusing him of making inappropriate advances. In 2023, an FIR was lodged against Modi, along with the show's operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj, following Jennifer's allegations of sexual harassment.

Jennifer claimed that Modi had repeatedly attempted to flirt with her and made unwanted sexual advances. According to reports, the verdict was in Jennifer's favor, requiring Asit Modi to pay her ₹5 lakh in compensation.
