Manisha Koirala, known for her impactful performances, recently revealed one of her biggest regrets in her career. The actress confessed that she turned down a film offered by the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, where she was supposed to star alongside Madhuri Dixit. In an interview with India Today, Manisha shared that she was scared and insecure about being pitted against Madhuri Dixit, which led her to back out of the project.

Reflecting on her decision, Manisha expressed regret, saying, "One of the regrets that I have in my career is that I didn't do Yash Chopra's film. I was pitted against Madhuri ji (Dixit), and I got scared. I backed out of that project."

Despite her initial hesitation, Manisha later had the opportunity to work with Madhuri Dixit in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Lajja. Recalling her experience working with Madhuri, Manisha praised her co-star, stating, "Madhuri ji is such a good person and actress. There was no need for me to be insecure. I think when you have a strong actor in front of you, you only perform better."

Manisha also emphasized that working with experienced actors like Madhuri Dixit and Rekha motivated her to perform better. She appreciated their support and encouragement, which she believes contributed to her growth as an actor.

Manisha Koirala is currently gearing up for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama series Heeramandi. Set in the 1940s pre-Independence India, the series portrays the life of a courtesan named Mallikajaan in the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore. The series features an ensemble cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal.

Manisha's candid confession about her career regrets sheds light on the challenges and insecurities actors face in the industry. The actor will soon be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming web series Heeramandi on Netflix available for streaming from May 1.
