Fans of Kapil Sharma's latest venture, 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', are in for a disappointment as the show is set to go off-air after just one season. Archana Puran Singh, a regular on the show, confirmed the news through an Instagram story where she shared a picture of a cake from the sets with the caption "Season wrap". This announcement has left many fans shocked and saddened by the show's sudden end.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Archana Puran Singh elaborated on the decision to end the show, saying, "Yes, we have wrapped up the shoot of season one of TGIKS; we shot the last episode of the season yesterday. It was great fun and celebration on the sets. The journey so far on the show has been quite amazing. It was a delightful journey and we had some amazing times on the sets."

'The Great Indian Kapil Show' premiered on Netflix on March 30, 2024, with a star-studded lineup of guests including Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. The subsequent episodes featured cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, as well as actors Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra, Vicky Kaushal, and Sunny Kaushal, among others. The most recent episode featured Aamir Khan as the guest.

Kapil Sharma had earlier expressed his excitement about the show during a press conference, stating, "Sunil, Krushna, Kiku, Rajiv, and I have been friends for a very long time, and how you see us on screen is how we are in real life." He also thanked Netflix for the opportunity to reach audiences worldwide, with new episodes dropping every Saturday.

There were also reports circulating about the hefty salaries of the cast, with Kapil Sharma allegedly charging Rs 26 crore for 5 episodes, Sunil Grover charging Rs 25 lakh per episode and Archana Puran Singh receiving Rs 10 lakh per episode.
