Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap, who worked together in Gangs Of Wasseypur, Sacred Games and Raman Raghav 2.0, are not on good terms. The actor recently revealed that he is not friends with the director. He stated that they don’t even talk for hours. Nawazuddin shared that they only ask each other about matchstick boxes, food and drinks. But he is also a well-wisher of Anurag as he said that he wants to be always healthy and get all the success in life.

In an interview with Indian Express, Nawazuddin said “Anurag and I are not even friends, frankly speaking. If we sit together we might not even talk to each other for hours. We are like that. We have flown together, travelled together for 5-6 hours without saying a word, maybe we’ll ask if you have matchsticks, or come, let’s eat something or drink. We only discuss these things. We don’t talk much. But Anurag has a special place in my heart. I always want him to be healthy and make films even if he doesn’t cast me in them. Anurag should always keep making films. Kabhi koi aanch nahi aani chaahiye Anurag ko bass (Anurag should never have any problems).”

He also thanked the director for introducing him as an actor to the world. Nawazuddin added, “With time people saw my work and started appreciating it. If your work is good, people will appreciate it, thanks to Anurag Kashyap who introduced me to a big platform. When I went to Cannes, there were so many people who had seen my work. A lot of the films that he has directed and I have acted in, have gone to Cannes, so Anurag is a special director for me.”

On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is gearing up for his upcoming release Rautu Ka Raaz. The film also stars Atul Tiwari, Narayani Shastri and Rajesh Kumar in prominent roles. It will be premiering on 28th June on Zee5.
