Global icon Jackie Chan is set to be honoured with a prestigious award at the 78th Locarno Film Festival. He will be recognized for his contribution to Hong Kong action cinema. From being a director, producer, actor, screenwriter, choreographer, singer, and athlete, to a daredevil stuntman, he is truly an all-rounder. The organizers announced the news on Tuesday via social media.
Jackie Chan made his name in martial based movies in his native Hong Kong before he went on to establish himself in Hollywood with 1995’s Rumble in the Bronx. He then attained global attention in the beloved Rush Hour films. Beyond his charismatic presence on big screens, he also made his valuable mark behind the camera. His directorial credits include The Fearless Hyena, Project A and Police Story. He directed as well as acted in the movies.
Announcing that Jackie Chan will be honoured with a lifetime career award, recognising the martial arts master's contribution to Hong Kong action cinema before becoming a Hollywood mainstay. The Locarno Film Festival posted on its Instagram handle. They shared a picture of the actor along with a long note, which read, "Jackie Chan (@jackiechan) will receive the Pardo alla Carriera at #Locarno78!"

Beloved for action films that bridged the gap between East and West, he has for almost sixty years been one of the world’s most recognizable faces. About The 78th edition of Locarno; The festival will run from August 6 to 16, 2025. Chan will hold an onstage conversation in Locarno on August 10.
Last year, Superstar Shah Rukh Khan made history as the first Indian to be conferred with the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera at the 77th Locarno Film Festival.
