Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ has been making records at the box office with its phenomenal performance at the ticket counters. The film collected a massive Rs 33 Crore on Independence Day and revived itself after witnessing a slow run on Monday. However, the film is expected to cross Rs 230 Crore collection at the Indian box office today.
‘Jailer’ has already crossed Rs 400 Crore collection worldwide so far. Rajinikanth paid full attention to the film in an attempt to make it a major blockbuster hit. Making a smashing comeback at the box office, director Nelson Dilipkumar brought a plethora of powerhouse performers together and used all their commercial formulas. ‘Jailer’ has the perfect comic timing with family emotions and punch dialogues attached with an item song.

The film is set to break the record of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’, which collected Rs 420 Crore at the box office. ‘Jailer’ is expected to beat 'Vikram's record today, completing a one week run in the Theatres. While the film has only completed its first weekend, the second weekend is also expected to be a bigger hit with a maximum theatrical collection surpassing Rs 500 Crore.
‘Jailer’s music, digital, and satellite license is said to have made Rs 1000 Crore already for the producers. The film is directed and written by Nelson Dilipkumar, and marks the maiden collaboration with superstar Rajinikanth. The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. The film was released on August 10.
