Jailer Box Office Collection Day 9 Prediction: Rajinikanth’s Movie Remains Unstoppable; Becomes 3rd Highest Kollywood Film Worldwide

Rajinikanth’s latest outing, ‘Jailer’ is now the top-earning Tamil film for this year, and becomes the third highest Kollywood movie worldwide. The film left behind big creations like ‘Ponniyen Selvan II’, 'Vikram’, ‘Bahubali’ and ‘RRR.’ Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyen Selvan II’ roughly earned Rs 345 Crore at the box office. ‘Jailer’ is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and marks the maiden collaboration of the director with superstar Rajinikanth.

The film earned Rs 10 Crore on Day 8 and is expected to collect Rs 8.50 Crore on Day 9. The total box office collection of the film stands around Rs 235.65 Crore in India. Therefore, if the growth remains steady, ‘Jailer’s total collection including Day 9 will stand around Rs 244.15 Crore.

In India, the film made an opening collection of Rs 49.35 Crore. It then saw a major dip on the second day and earned Rs 25.75 Crore. The collection of the film remained steady and rose over the weekend, with a significant growth on August 15. Even the Monday numbers of the film were soaring high, as ‘Jailer’ collected Rs 23.55 Crore and passed the Monday litmus test.

‘Jailer’ was released in theatres worldwide on August 10, and marks the return of Rajinikanth to the big screen after two years. ‘Jailer’ also features Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajakumar, Vinayakan, Jackie Shroff, and Mohanlal in pivotal roles.
