Superstar Rajinikanth is returning to the big screen after a long wait. Coming back with 'Jailer' on August 10, the film marks the maiden collaboration of the actor with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar. 'Jailer' also features Tamannah Bhatia, Shiva Rajakumar, and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. Released in around 900 theatres across Tamil Nadu, fans are celebrating the film by bursting crackers to pouring milk on the banners and can be seen dancing outside theatres.
Rajinikanth's fans cannot keep calm as the first day morning show began around 6:00 AM in India with fans lined outside the theatres to witness their superstar on screens. Videos of fans bursting crackers and dancing surfaced on the internet. In one viral video, fans were seen pouring milk on a car that had 'Jailer' written on it.

Meanwhile, a Japanese couple has traveled from Osaka to Chennai, Tamil Nadu to watch the Rajinikanth entertainer. Yasuda Hidetoshi, is the fan club leader of Rajinikanth in Japan and has traveled to Tamil Nadu with his wife. Another video showed fans showering flowers at those making their way to watch the film's first-day first show.

'Jailer' also has extended cameos of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. The film's music score is given by Anirudh Ravichander with two songs out titled, 'Kaavaalaa' and 'Hukum' respectively.
