John Abraham, who is currently busing promoting his upcoming movie Vedaa, has shared his view on the ‘existence of god’. The actor shared that he envies people who have faith as he believes that ‘faith can move mountains’. He said faith is the biggest ‘god’ for him. John also called himself a believer in science. The Pathaanstar believes that in an educated approach, it is difficult to argue about ‘god’s existence’.
In a chat with Ranveer Allahbadia for his podcast, John said, “I envy people who have faith because faith can move mountains. Faith, belief, these are big things so I envy those people who have that kind of belief. That’s what religion is for me. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jew, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, whoever you are, faith is the most important thing. That is the biggest god for me, faith.”
He continued, “I am a follower of science so I am a scientific person. If you take an educated approach then it will be difficult to argue if there is a god or not. I am not saying there is no god. But for someone who believes in god, it is because of their faith. It is also faith that drives people.”
“I don’t want to sound offensive because I respect people and I respect their religions. But once irrationality enters a religion, like certain customs and traditions that you see and wonder ‘Why? what is even happening?’ I find it absurd. I won’t comment about people’s religious faith. I will just say have common sense.”
John Abraham’s Vedaa has been released today on 15th August. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the action thriller also stars Sharvari Wagh, Abhishek Banerjee and Kshitij Chauhan in key roles. He will be next seen in Tehran. The film also features Manushi Chhillar, Madhurima Tuli, Rukmini Maitra, Neeru Bajwa and Sujith Shankar in pivotal roles. The movie is scheduled to be released in theatres on 11th October this year.
