Jr NTR has shared significant updates about the much-anticipated sequel, Devara 2. The actor is riding high on the success of Devara: Part 1, which has been performing impressively at the box office since its release last month. In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Jr NTR provided insights into making the second instalment, highlighting the care the team is taking to ensure it meets fans’ expectations.

According to Jr NTR, a few sequences for Devara 2 have already been shot. However, the makers are proceeding cautiously, as they want the sequel to surpass the first film in terms of storytelling and execution. He revealed that he suggested director Koratala Siva take a month-long break before diving back into the project. “We’ve shot for a few sequences, but now we have this responsibility because Part 1 is doing well. We will take a little more time to etch Part 2 into something bigger and better—something that excites audiences a bit more,” Jr NTR explained.

Talking about the director’s break, the actor shared, “I told Siva, ‘You know what? This is my gift to you. I’m going to send you away from Hyderabad. Go for a month and a half, have fun, and don’t think about anything. Come back and then we will start writing for it again.’ Let’s just refresh, re-energize, rethink, recalculate, recalibrate and then we will write Devara 2.”

The success of Devara: Part 1 has increased expectations for the sequel, especially since it marks Jr NTR’s first solo film release in six years. His last solo film, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, came out in 2018. Meanwhile, Devara: Part 1 has garnered more box office revenue in North America compared to Adam Driver’s Megalopolis. Fans are now eagerly looking forward to Devara 2, hoping for an even more thrilling and visually grander cinematic experience.

The first installment of Devara, featuring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, revolves around a man who embarks on a dangerous sea journey to protect his people. With the sequel already generating buzz, Jr NTR and the team’s commitment to delivering a blockbuster continuation is evident.
