Aamir Khan’s eldest son Junaid Khan is gearing up for his upcoming movie Loveyapa. It marks the theatrical debut of the actor. The film is a romantic comedy-drama which also features Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter, Khushi Kapoor in the lead roles. The film is set to be released in theatres on February 7, 2025. Much ahead of the release, Junaid shared a major difference between his OTT debut film Maharaj and his theatrical debut movie Loveyapa. The actor stated that they are worlds apart. He even said the experience of shooting Loveyapa was more intense.
In an interview with Times Now, Junaid talked about Loveyapa being pole apart from his debut OTT film Maharaj. The actor said, “They are worlds apart. Even how the films were made. I actually found the experience of shooting Loveyapa more intense. We had a very young crew with a first-time DOP, a first-time Production Designer and Phantom Films making a film after a very long time. That brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm on set.”
“Maharaj had a very senior and experienced crew, which made the filming experience more relaxed and controlled. Aside from that the films are very different and the characters are very different. My character in Maharaj was closer to my personality than Loveyapa I feel so this time was more of a challenge and more intense,” he added.
Junaid Khan also shed light on not being launched by his father Aamir Khan. The actor said in the same interview, “I feel that’s just how things happened. Papa was and remains more than willing to cast me in the film that he feels I’m correct for beyond that he won’t go out of his way for it and that’s how it should be. The first project where everything aligned came from Yashraj Films and the second from Phantom Films but my next film is with Aamir Khan Production for which we have already finished filming.”
