One of the most-awaited projects, Kalki 2989 AD, stars some of the talented actors from the Indian cinema. Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani will take on lead roles in the upcoming sci-fi dystopian movie. The movie was all set to hit the theatres worldwide on May 9, 2024, but it seems like it has been postponed.

Kalki 2989 AD Postponed?

Recent reports suggest that there's a new update regarding the film's release—it's now slated to hit theaters on May 30. Sources indicate that the makers are likely to make an official announcement about this revised date soon. Allegedly, the delay is attributed to some remaining tasks that need to be completed for the project. Consequently, the filmmakers have opted to push back the release date to ensure everything is finalised before the premiere.

It is pertinent to note that the official statement regarding the same is yet to be made by the makers.

About Kalki 2989 AD

Kalki 2898 AD tells a story that mixes ancient Indian myths with a far-off future full of trouble, all happening in the magical city of Kasi, which we know as Varanasi today. The story travels through thousands of years, from the time of the Mahabharata, which happened way back in 3102 BCE, to the distant future of 2898 AD. At the center of everything is Kalki, a mysterious character believed to be the last form of the respected Hindu god Vishnu.

Kalki 2898 – A.D is being made with a huge budget of ₹600 crore (which is around US$75 million), making it the most expensive Indian movie ever created so far. The music for the film is being created by Santhosh Narayanan, while Djordje Stojiljkovic is handling the cinematography, and Nitin Zihani Choudhary, known for their work on Tumbbad (2018), is in charge of the production design.
