Keerthy Suresh and Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John was recently released on Christmas. The Atlee's action movie garnered plenty of headlines for a cameo by superstar Salman Khan. The film is a remake of Atlee's Tamil hit Theri (2016). Now Keerthy, the lead actress of the film, has revealed that she was recommended for Baby John by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who played the same role as Keerthy in the original action-thriller.
Keerthy Suresh recently in a conversation with Galatta India shared how Samantha Ruth Prabhu recommended her name for Baby John. She also expressed gratitude towards her. The actress said, “She (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) probably had me in mind when this was happening, that’s what Varun (Dhawan) also told me. I can’t be grateful enough for that. It’s so sweet of her to say, ‘Keerthy will be able to pull off this character.’ Her performance in Theri is one of my favourites in Tamil. Honestly, I was very scared."
She added, “I remember her posting a story on Instagram after watching the trailer of Baby John, saying, ‘I wouldn’t have shared this one with anyone else, but you.’ It was so sweet and meant a lot to me. I couldn’t have asked for a better debut. This is one of the characters I really love and I am so glad I got to play it in Hindi."
