Keerthy Suresh's latest film Raghu Thatha has made a smashing impact on the OTT platform, racking up 50 million streams within just 24 hours of its release on Zee5. The film, directed by Suman Kumar and produced by Hombale Films, debuted on the platform on September 13, 2024, following its theatrical release on August 15.
Raghu Thatha is a women-centric film that sees Keerthy Suresh portraying a rebellious character, challenging the societal imposition of marriage on girls and the push for Hindi language dominance. The film draws attention to both issues, showcasing Keerthy Suresh's determination to stand up for her beliefs. Produced under the Hombale Films banner, the movie marks the production house’s first foray into the Tamil film industry. The music was composed by Sean Roldan, adding another layer to the film’s engaging narrative. Director Suman Kumar, who is also known for co-writing The Family Man series, expressed his excitement about the film breaking regional barriers through its OTT release, emphasizing that the film was meant to entertain while prompting discussions on important social topics.
