Kesari Chapter 2: Karan Singh Tyagi's Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh came with a discussion of a chapter of history, which was often left out. However, aside from chronicling the life of a forgotten hero, Kesari Chapter 2 works as it invokes patriotism.

Kesari 2 is still doing well at the box office following its April 18, 2025, theatrical premiere. Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill, while Akshay Kumar plays Indian lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, and R Madhavan essays the role of Neville McKinley.

Kesari 2 witnesses CS Nair and Dilreet Gill battled against the British Empire following the Jallianwala Bagh atrocity. Karan Singh Tyagi claims that Ananya Panday's role was instrumental in supporting the Indian lawyer during his legal battle in the British court.

Ananya Panday's Role In Kesari 2

Ananya Panday's character was inspired by the first female lawyer in India, as disclosed by the director of Kesari 2. This Punjabi girl was gathering evidence, participating in court arguments, and taking on powerful men during a period when women were not in the forefront.

"Dilreet Gill is the soul of the recently released film," said producer Karan Johar in a video dropped by Dharma Productions. Moreover, she is the necessary energy in that courtroom as well as the moral compass.

Ananya Panday held her own in this historic courtroom drama, despite never having played a role that required this level of realism, the filmmaker-producer stated in the video. "From the first take to the last, Dilreet’s character was a ride full of emotions and challenges," read the caption on the video.
