In the wake of actress Kim Sae Ron’s heartbreaking death, new claims have emerged, shifting the narrative surrounding her struggles. Amid accusations against actor Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Sae Ron's alleged ex-boyfriend, identified as Mr. K, has stepped forward to deny his involvement, instead blaming her family’s indifference for her despair.
According to a report by The Fact, Mr. K shared details from his personal experience with Kim Sae Ron, including text messages between them. He also revealed abusive messages from a man believed to be her "New York husband," whom Kim allegedly married in secret. Mr. K claimed this man had threatened her, hacked her Instagram, leaked photos, and even physically assaulted her — leaving her terrified and trapped.

Kim Sae Ron’s family had previously accused Kim Soo Hyun and a YouTuber of contributing to her tragic end. They alleged that she was in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun while still underage and that his agency, Gold Medalist, demanded she repay a hefty 700 million Won debt after her career hit a standstill following a DUI incident.
Mr. K strongly refuted these accusations. He revealed that Kim Sae Ron struggled most with her family’s cold behaviour. He recounted an incident where she injured her wrist in a self-harm attempt that required emergency surgery — yet her family allegedly didn’t visit her in the hospital. He claimed her mother was seen casually dining with a friend when they arrived home from the hospital, showing no concern for her daughter’s condition.
Mr. K expressed disbelief over the family’s statements blaming Kim Soo Hyun, stating, "As someone who truly knew her, I find it absurd that someone claiming to be her aunt is using the family’s name to blame Kim Soo Hyun." He added that he had never met the actor but felt it was unfair for him to be dragged into the situation solely because of his fame. To support his claims, Mr. K provided an affidavit, including his national ID number and fingerprint.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun has halted all public activities. His agency, Gold Medalist, has filed a criminal complaint against the YouTube channel Garosero Institute, which first released photos and allegations linking him to Kim Sae Ron.
