Kingston Box Office Collection Day 1: GV Prakash and Divyabharathi starrer Tamil fantasy horror movie released in theatres on March 7. The film received positive responses from the audience for its storyline and performance. Despite getting good reviews, the movie could not perform as per expectations on its opening day. The film failed to cross the Rs 1 crore mark even if it was released in both Tamil and Telugu languages. Well, the collection in the coming days will decide the fate of the movie. 

Kingston Box Office Collection Day 1

As per Sacnilk, Kingston earned Rs 0.9 crore on day 1. The Tamil version collected Rs 0.7 crore and the Telugu version earned Rs 0.2 crore. It had an overall 14.01 per cent Tamil occupancy on Friday. The film had 11.97 per cent in the morning shows, 16.82 per cent in the afternoon shows, 11.24 per cent in the evening shows and 16.00 per cent in the night shows. On the other hand, the Telugu version of Kingston had 10.84 per cent occupancy on the same day. 

Kingston Budget 

As per reports, the movie was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore. 

About Kingston 

The story is about a man named Kingston, who is a part of the fisherfolks and is the handyman of Thomas (the kingpin of the smuggling trade of the coastal region where he lives). Things changed for him when he realised that he had been smuggling drugs instead of sea cucumbers. He then decided to venture out into the haunted sea (which has been banned for fishing because of its curse) to unravel the dark secrets of the past. The movie stars GV Prakash, Divyabharathi, Sabumon Abdusamad, Elango Kumaravel and Chetan in key roles. The film has been directed by Kamal Prakash and backed by GV Prakash himself.
