Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming pan-India film ‘Kannappa’ is one of the most anticipated films in the Telugu Film Industry. The film went on floors in August 2023 with an auspicious puja ceremony, but now the makers are dealing with some changes regarding the casting of the film. Kriti Sanon’s younger sister Nupur Sanon, who was set to mark her South debut with ‘Kannappa’, has walked out of the project.

The film has remained to be the dream project of actor Vishnu Manchu since long. The pre-production of the film was in motion with the shooting to commence soon. However, on Wednesday, September 20, Vishnu Manchu took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared the update about Nupur Sanon’s exit from the film.

Vishnu Manchu wrote, “Sad to announce that lovely @NupurSanon had to step down from #Kannappa due to scheduling conflicts. We'll miss her, but the hunt for our new leading lady begins! Sending Nupur our best wishes on her other commitments. Hope to work with her in the near future. Exciting times ahead. Stay tuned for updates!#Kannappa (sic)."

The actor has been quite vocal about his passion towards his dream project. The film’s pooja ceremony was conducted at the Sri Kalahasti temple on August 21 this year. The ceremony was also attended by Vishnu Manchu’s father-actor Mohan Babu, who is also producing the project. The film might have a cameo appearance of actor Prabhas in an important role.

‘Kannappa’ is helmed by Mukhesh Kumar Singh, whereas the film is written by Sai Madhav Burra and Thota Prasad. Meanwhile, Stephan Devasi and Manisharma have been roped in as the music composers for the ambitious project.
