JE Entertainment Desk: The most anticipated trailer of 'Maamannan' is here and fans are hyped up about its stellar ensemble star cast which includes Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil and Keerthy Suresh. The movie is a political drama and revolves around a man who collects evidence against his town's influential man to end his endless torture.

The trailer starts with a voiceover from Vadivelu’s character. “I might be singing the same song. But I will sing it as long as I live. I shall rip my gut out, transform it into a lute, and play it in every street,”

Talking about 'Maamannan' at the audio launch, dierctor Mari Selvaraj said that Kamal Haasan’s 'Thevar Magan' was a huge influence on the film. “After seeing Thevar Magan, I didn’t know whether it was right or wrong… but it affected me so much. I saw Periya Thevar and Chinna Thevar… but I couldn’t see my father anywhere in the film… Now, watching the film along with Kamal Haasan sir is one of the high points of my life.”

Meanwhile, in an interview, Mari Selvaraj said, "Maamannan will be a big film in my career with an ensemble star cast. The film talks about significant politics. And Vadivelu's role will be a surprise and it will reiterate the big legend that he is."

'Maamannan' has music composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman. The film has cinematography by Theni Eswar, editing by Selva RK, and art direction by Kumar Gangappan. It is produced by M Shengabag Moorthy and R Arjun Durai of Red Giant Movies.
