Mallika Sherawat, who gained fame for her bold roles and performances in films like Murder, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, and Welcome, was recently seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Soon after her comeback, the actress talked about the need to navigate the complex dynamics of Bollywood by being highly diplomatic to avoid missing out on roles. Mallika also stressed that mastering the art of 'chamchagiri,' a term for flattery and appeasement, is crucial for success in the industry.
Mallaika has often been recognised for her glamorous persona and has made appearances at various international film festivals. Beyond her film career, she is known for her outspoken views on women's rights and empowerment. Now, on The Ranveer Show podcast, she said, "You have to be very diplomatic in Bollywood."

When asked about people getting offended, she noted that it happens quite easily. If you’re not diplomatic, you risk losing out on projects, as others might speak negatively about you. "And if you’re not diplomatic, you lose out on projects. People say bad things about you. Changchagiri is the name of the game here. Traditional Bollywood is very formulaic. Main Haryana se hoon, mere bass ka hai nahin hai yeh sab kuch (I’m from Haryana, I Can’t do all this). Inn sab cheezon ke liye main tyayar nahin hoon (I’m not ready for all this)."
Meanwhile, Mallika Sherawat was last seen in RK/RKay, which released in 2022, following a five-year hiatus. She first gained widespread recognition for her role in Murder alongside Emraan Hashmi. In addition to her work in Bollywood, she has appeared in international films such as Hisss, Time Raiders and Dirty Politics. Recently, she had a cameo in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring, Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri.
Co-written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film is produced by T-Series Films, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaoo Films, and Kathavachak Films. It premiered in theaters on October 11, 2024.
