Manisha Koirala, who recently appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix India series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, met the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, at his residence, 10 Downing Street. The event celebrated '100 years of the friendship treaty' between the UK and Nepal. Manisha took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a series of pictures from the event, expressing her excitement and honour.

Manisha Koirala shared photos of her meeting with UK PM Rishi Sunak at his official residence. The actor, representing her home country Nepal, was delighted to discover that many attendees at the event had watched her new web series, Heeramandi. Dressed in a stunning black and golden saree, she posed with Rishi Sunak in several candid photos and also took a solo picture in front of 10 Downing Street.

In her Instagram post, Manisha wrote, “It was an honor to be invited to 10 Downing Street to celebrate United Kingdom - Nepal relations and 100 years of our friendship treaty. It was such a pleasure to hear the Prime Minister @rishisunakmp speak fondly of our country Nepal. I took the liberty of inviting the PM and his family to come trek to Everest Base Camp. Can you believe that most of the attendees had seen Heeramandi on Netflix and loved it? I was thrilled!!”

Heeramandi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is a period drama that delves into the lives of courtesans in pre-partition Lahore. The show has been receiving praise from both fans and celebrities. The star-studded cast includes Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal, alongside Manisha Koirala.

The series offers a glimpse into the intricate and emotional lives of these women, set against the backdrop of a politically and socially tumultuous era. Bhansali’s direction brings out the richness of the period, with elaborate sets, stunning costumes, and powerful performances by the cast.
