New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani 2 has been finally released at the theatres. The film's trailer was widely praised by the audience, which reflected issues such as women's safety and gender inequality. The much-awaited film that seemed to live on both these scales, released on Friday. Rani Mukerji is playing the role of a fierce cop named Shivani Shivaji Roy in the movie.
Rani is dedicated to her duty from beginning to the end. 'Mardaani 2' will remind you of the prequel 'Mardaani'. The film is about the capture of a criminal (Vishal Jethwa), who brutally rapes women and then kills them. Though the culprit's age is just 21-year-old in the film, he challenges Shivani Shivaji Roy to catch him. The film depicts how Shivani catches the criminal and teaches him a lesson.

The film has been produced by Aditya Chopra under the banners of Yash Raj Films. Gopi Puthran directorial has a good story, excellent screenplay and catchy dialogues. The first-half of the film is quite interesting. Rani steals the show with a measured and restrained act. She has kept a fine balance in showcasing her power and vulnerability.
Antagonist Vishal Jethwa is quite a revelation to watch. He shows his confidence against powerhouse a performer like Rani. Though he looks innocent, he gets his rustic Rajasthani accent right and delivers a chilling performance as a debutante. The story is going to bind you. Puthran has created a fantastic story, avoiding any dull moment in the film. You would not be able to keep your eyes off the screen. Rani Mukerji in Khakee leads the show.
The film is not for faint-hearted. It is a kind of disturbing thriller that will leave you enraged, considering the current scenario in the country where such crimes have become a routine.
