Matka On OTT: Varun Tej’s Telugu movie is already making headlines ahead of its theatrical release. A month before its official release, Matka’s OTT platform has been locked. The much-anticipated movie has been directed by Karuna Kumar. It revolves around gambling scams that have shaken the entire nation in the 20th century. Matka is based on the life of the infamous ‘Matka gambler’ named Ratan Khetri. The highly ambitious project costs around Rs 15 crore for a single schedule itself.
About Matka
The story is based on a shocking real incident that happened in India between 1958 and 1982. It is based on Ratan Khetri’s biopic when he was the king of gambling scams. The movie stars Varun Tej, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Nora Fatehi, Naveen Chandra, Kishore Kumar G, Mime Gopi and Ajay Ghosh in key roles. The pan-India movie will be released in several languages including Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam.
While sharing the teaser of the film, the makers wrote on social media “From nothing to everything, It takes only ONE MOVE. WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MATKA. Teaser out now! #MATKA #MATKAonNOV14th.”

Prime Video has acquired the digital rights to Varun Tej’s Telugu movie. The shooting of the movie has been completed recently. The movie will be released on Prime Video in late December or January next year on the OTT platform.
