The coveted MET Gala 2023 was held in New York city on Monday evening. The biggest night of fashion was attended by the biggest celebrities from around the world. While Ice Spice, Jackson Wang, Quinta Brunson and Alia Bhatt were amongst those making their MET debut on Monday.
Korean heartthrobs Jennie, Jackson Wang and Song Hye-Kyo made headlines with their red carpet looks, fans were eagerly waiting for BTS’ Jimin and Suga, who were rumoured to be attending the event.
Why BTS’ Jimin And Suga Skipped MET Gala 2023
BTS’ Jimin and Suga were recently spotted in New York City attending events. While Jimin attended the inauguration ceremony of Tiffany & Co.’s newest store in the city, fans were eagerly waiting for him to appear at the MET Gala 2023.
Suga too was absent from the MET Gala 2023, and while no reasons have been given for his absence, it is being speculated that since the singer has been busy with his performances in the ongoing Agust D “D-Day” tour, the BTS member might have decided to take a break.
Suga recently performed on Saturday, April 29 and is scheduled to perform in Illinois on May 3. The singer also appeared as a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show on Monday night.
Many other A-list celebrities were absent from this year’s MET Gala. Blake Lively, Zendaya, Bella Hadid and Lady Gaga were among the top names to skip the MET Gala 2023.
Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra were amongst the Indian celebrities to appear at the red carpet of MET Gala 2023. While Alia Bhatt opted for a Prabal Gurang gown, Priyanka Chopra made heads turn in a Valentino gown that she paired with an approximately Rs 204 crore worth Bulgari necklace.
Taking to her Instagram account, Alia Bhatt posted pictures from the MET Gala and wrote, “Met Gala — Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture.”

The Bollywood star added, “My look tonight was inspired from this and in particular by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look. I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with a 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by @prabalgurung.”
“I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met. A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED,” Alia Bhatt wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
